Continuing on the theme of blogs and interesting sources of information, I find FT is a very good source of financial news that a lot of people are not aware of. It does compare favorably with WSJ on a lot of occasions, most recently the coverage of sub-prime melt-down. The other positive is that it is published from across the pond and is relatively free of a lot of biases in the US media. The sister site FT Alphaville (the blogging arm of FT) is very frequently updated (probably a little too much) but is insightful. On the downside, a substantial part of this site is behind the subscription wall and it is a little too focused on the British markets which you might expect of a paper based in London.
The best resource for me though is the 6 AM cut that I subscribe to. In fact this is the only newsletter I get at my work email account. It gives a short account of all the things of importance that happened in the last 24 hours. It probably takes 5-10 minutes everyday to read through it, but if it is related to the markets and is worth knowing, you would find it here.

My launch pad for most of the day
Most of my day goes by refreshing digg and slashdot. Kinda expected, but this is a really cool website i came across once.
http://www.worldsfamousphotos.com/.
The website has some really cool historical photos and has some context on them as well. About where they came from etc.
Check them out when you brain is in neutral :).

My Favorite Blogs
I spend most of my time online in the blogosphere. So I thought I would share a few of my favorites in a series of posts.
First to go is Wallstrip. This is a stock market video blog conceptualized by one Mr. Howard Lindzon and is presented by the energetic Lindsay Campbell who I should say is very cute and comes across as smart and intelligent. Not sure how much of that is scripted though. I never miss an episode. Anyways, the big story is that Howard started this off on a shoe string budget and sold it out to CBS for a tidy sum very quickly.
This is more of a fun blog than any kind of information source for me. If you want to get a couple of stock tips, this is not a bad place. Some of the top picks of Howard AAPL, RIMM & GRMN have handily outperformed the indices this year. You should check this out if you have a taste for momentum driven stocks.
